Macy Madsen scores 17, leads Johnsburg over Woodstock

Macy Madsen had another standout performance for Johnsburg on Thursday, leading the way to a 41-26 win over host Woodstock.

Madsen led all scorers with 17 points, and Molly Wetzel added 12 points.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Genoa-Kingston 49, Richmond-Burton 44: At Richmond, the Rockets were outscored 22-10 in the fourth quarter in a nonconference loss.

Connor Wallace led R-B with 17 points.

Rockford Lutheran 70, Marengo 59: At Marengo, Matt Volkening’s 30 points were not enough for Marengo in a loss.

BOYS BOWLING

Woodstock 2,369, St. Edward 2,152: At Elgin Lanes, the Blue Streaks came out on top, led by a 602 series from Clark Shulfer.

Shulfer bowled eight strikes in a dazzling Game 1 and finished with a 266 to start the day for Woodstock (5-6).

GIRLS BOWLING

Woodstock 2,023, St. Edward 1,390: At Elgin Lanes, Norah Mungle had a high series of 564 lo lead the Streaks to a one-sided road victory.

Mungle also had the high game with a 205 in Game 2, while Miranda Stumpff added a 532 series and Torin Deacon had a 518 series.
