Traffic lights out in Lake in the Hills intersection

emergency lights

The traffic lights at Randall Road and Acorn Lane in Lake in the Hills are “not functioning,” Lake in the Hills police said.

Police said around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday the intersection is temporarily a four-way stop because of the outage, which is creating congestion.

Police said people should avoid the intersection until further notice.

Lake in the Hills police spokesperson Blaine Krage repairs to the light are underway.

McHenry County Division of Transportation Public Information Officer Hans Varga said contractors are out looking at the issue. He confirmed Randall Road construction was not the cause of the outage. Randall Road is county road.
