More snow is on the way--just in time for Monday morning’s commute

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for much of northern Illinois between 3 a.m. and noon on Monday, Jan. 24.

More snow is on the way and Monday morning’s commute could get rather messy.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory from 3 a.m. to noon, Monday, Jan. 24 for portions of north central and northeast Illinois, including the counties of Winnebago, Boone, McHenry, Lake, Ogle, DeKalb, Kane, DuPage, Kendall, Grundy, Kane and Kankakee, along with southern and eastern Will County and northern, central and southern Cook County.

Motorists are cautioned to expect snow and hazardous travel conditions affecting their morning drive to work.

Accumulations of 2-3 inches of snow are expected.

According to the NWS, snow will begin late tonight with the highest snowfall rates expected to occur during morning commute hours.
