La Salle County motorist discharges firearm during Monday altercation; no injuries reported

At approximately 9:51 p.m. on Sept. 20, La Salle County deputies were called to the area of East 24th Road near North 32nd Road for a report of a motorist discharging a firearm toward another motorist, according to La Salle County Sheriff Adam Diss.

La Salle County deputies quickly responded to where Shawn M. O’Donnell, 33, of Marseilles was taken into custody without incident.

O’Donnell was transported to the La Salle County Jail and is being charged with reckless discharge of a firearm and driving under the influence of alcohol. No injuries resulted in the altercation and the investigation is currently ongoing.
