Business Happenings: Sears Hometown Store moves to Ottawa’s South Towne Mall

Appliance store is locally-owned, operated

The Sears Hometown Store in Ottawa moved from the city’s north side to the south end.

The store opened in the South Towne Mall at 1550 First Ave., occupying the former location of Dollar General. The appliance store previously was located on Holiday Lane north of Interstate 80.

The Sears Hometown stores are locally owned and operated.

New digs on Main Street

More of Me, a women’s boutique, hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening Friday for its new location at 212 E. Main St.

The new location gives the boutique its own storefront on Main Street in Streator.

The boutique opened September 2018 within the Main Street Market, which hosts several businesses, including the More on Main coffee shop.

More of Me, which sells plus-size clothing for women, sells clothing in sizes S-3X.

New men’s clothing store coming to Main Street Market

The Main Street Market Facebook page announced a men’s apparel store, Legends Men’s Apparel, was coming soon to its building at 317 E. Main St. More details are expected to be announced.

Aldi in Streator renovating

Aldi at 1725 N. Bloomington St. in Streator will be renovating its building. The store will remain open while it conducts renovations.
