Girls Basketball: Benet’s Kendall Moriarty leads five area players earning AP All-State honors

Benet senior Kendall Moriarty earned Class 4A second team honors, with area players Brenna Loftus of Riverside-Brookfield, Lauren Cohen of Glenbard South, Lauren Huber of Glenbard East and Claire Hyde of Wheaton North all earning honorable mention recognition in the Associated Press Class 3A and Class 4A All-State teams released Tuesday.

Loftus earned honorable mention in Class 3A, Cohen, Huber and Hyde for Class 4A.

The Class 3A first team included Simeon’s Aneesah Morrow, Danville’s Erin Houpt, Kenwood’s Brianna McDaniel, Charleston’s Shae Littleford, Lincoln’s Kloe Froebe and Morton’s Katie Krupa. The Class 3A second team included Decatur McArthur’s Quincenia Jackson, Peoria’s Denali Craig-Edwards, Kenwood’s Whitney Dunn, Genseo’s Kammie Ludwig and Mattoon’s Mallory Rammage.

The Class 4A first team included Marist’s Sydney Affolter, Naperville North’s Greta Kampschroeder, Whitney Young’s Timia Ware, Edwardsville’s Sydney Harris, Hersey’s Katy Eidle and Libertyville’s Emily Fisher. The Class 3A second team included Moriarty, Bartlett’s Mackenzie Hare, Taft’s Krystyna Ellew, Hersey’s Mary Kate Fahey, Evanston’s Lola Lesmond and Bolingbrook’s Kennedi Perkins.
