Juvenile battered in Beecher Park; Yorkville police arrest two suspects

Yorkville police have arrested two juvenile suspects in connection with the battering of another juvenile at 9:53 p.m. Aug. 5 in Beecher Community Park in the 900 block of Game Farm Road.

In a statement, police said they were summoned to the park on a report of a male juvenile who had been struck and kicked by a 17-year-old male juvenile. The juvenile victim’s cellphone was taken.

Bristol-Kendall Fire Protection District paramedics transported the juvenile victim to an area hospital for treatment.

Police said a 17-year-old juvenile suspect and a 15year-old juvenile departed the scene. Officers later found the 17-year-old suspect and took him into custody. He was transported to the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center in St. Charles Township, where he was charged with robbery, aggravated battery, theft and obstructing a peace officer.

The 15-year-old juvenile was charged with obstructing a peace officer, police said.

Police said they were assisted by members of the Kendall County Criminal Intelligence Team in their investigation into the incident.
