The Plano School District 2A Unified track and field team won first in the state on May 27 at the IHSA meet held at the Eastern Illinois University O’Brien Field.

Yorkville senior and defending state shot put champion Kyle Clabough posted the top shot put throw in Friday's Class 3A state preliminaries, leading area state finalists in Charleston. Oswego's Caleb Wright and Yorkville's Josh Pugh are among the area's other finalists.
