St. Charles Police Department issues 14 speeding tickets during traffic enforcement campaign

The St. Charles Police Department conducted additional traffic enforcement Dec. 18-Jan. 4, reminding motorists to buckle up and not drive impaired, day or night, as part of the nationwide Click It or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement effort.

The St. Charles Police Department issued 14 speeding tickets during a traffic enforcement campaign conducted over the weekend preceding Memorial Day and on Memorial Day itself.

St. Charles Police conducted additional traffic enforcement as part the nationwide Click It or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement effort. The St. Charles Police joined other state and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois with their effort.

Police also charged two motorists for driving with a suspended license and issued two tickets for distracted driving and two tickets for seat belt violations.

In addition, officers issued eight other tickets for other offenses along with writing 10 warning tickets. The Click It or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over mobilization was made possible with federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
