Kane County to open fourth vaccination site at Spring Hill Mall in West Dundee

Kane County’s new COVID-19 vaccination site joins sites in Batavia, Aurora and Elgin

The Kane County Board and the Kane County Health Department are opening the county’s fourth vaccination site at Spring Hill Mall in West Dundee on Friday. The new location joins sites in Batavia, Aurora and Elgin.

According to a news release, the new location is at 1072 Spring Hill Mall, West Dundee. The site will be open from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday.

The Kane County Board Office and Health Department are partnering with Jewel-Osco to make 400 vaccination appointments available to Kane County residents, who can go to www.kanevax.org and click on the Kane-SpringHillMallVax (Carpentersville, IL) or call 855-4-KaneVax to sign up.

“The addition of another KaneVax vaccination site, located in the Spring Hill Mall, will serve as the fourth regional vaccination site established by Kane County,” County Board Chairman Corinne Pierog said in the release. “The site will be a partnership with Jewel-Osco and serve the Carpentersville and West Dundee area of northern Kane County. We are encouraging everyone 16 and older to sign up to be vaccinated. This new site, along with Kane County’s mass vaccination sites in Batavia, Aurora and Elgin, makes obtaining vaccination accessible to everyone throughout the county.”

“To extend our reach further north in Kane County, we are pleased to add a vaccination site with yet again, important community collaboration,” said Kathy Fosser, interim executive director of the Kane County Health Department.

“I’m excited for the opening of this new site and the increased vaccine accessibility for the Latinx community in the Carpentersville/Dundee area,” Kane County Public Health Committee Chairman Jarett Sanchez said in the release. “All residents should feel at ease coming to our site, no matter what race, gender, or immigration status they might have. Our site is for the people.”

The new site, like all Kane County vaccine sites, will offer free COVID-19 vaccines to all eligible residents, according to the release. All individuals 16 and older are eligible to receive the vaccine. Appointments are required.
