Management consultant Joseph Lackner will be appointed to fill a vacancy on the St. Charles School Board that was created after the resignation of board member Michael Bryant in January.
Lackner was among seven candidates that board members interviewed at Monday’s special school board meeting. Twenty-two people interviewed for the vacancy.
He will fill out the remainder of Bryant’s term, which ends in 2023. Bryant was elected to the board in 2019.
A District 303 resident since 2014, Lackner and his wife have four children who attend District 303 schools. He serves as a management consultant with Ernst and Young.
“The School Board is grateful to the members of the community who applied to fill this important role,” School Board President Nick Manheim said in a statement. “Members of the board were impressed with the backgrounds and experiences of all the candidates and felt the interview process on Monday was invaluable in assisting us with the decision. We are excited to have Mr. Lackner join the Community Unit School District 303 School Board and believe that his professional experience and personal qualities will be a welcome addition.”
