BATAVIA – The Batavia Chamber of Commerce celebrated the opening of WindMill Grille & Pizzeria in downtown Batavia with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, March 5.
According to a news release from the Chamber, the new lunch and dinner restaurant has a full bar and serves a variety of salads, sandwiches,and entrées, along with pizza. It is owned and managed by two sisters, Betime Elezi and Gzime Sadiku, along with their husbands Brian Elezi and Futi Sadiku. Brian Elezi is the head chef for the family-friendly restaurant.
Mayor Jeffery Schielke presided over the celebration that included Chamber staff members and ambassadors, as well as Batavia MainStreet Executive Director Beth Walker, Alderman Mark Uher and several city of Batavia employees.
The owners spent months revamping the restaurant’s space before opening in mid-February. WindMill Grille & Pizzeria, 90 North Island Avenue, is open daily for dine in or carry out. Carry-out orders can be placed online at windmillgrillepizzeria.com or by calling 630-326-9717.
