Joseph E. Lagacy Jr., 69, of St. Anne, passed away Wednesday (Nov. 28, 2018) at Presence St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee.

He was born Oct. 29, 1949, in Kankakee, the son of Joseph E. and Rita Raiche Lagacy Sr.

Joseph married Valerie L. Schaafsma on Dec. 4, 1970, in Momence. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph E. and Tracy Lagacy, of Pontiac, and Rick Lagacy, of Bourbonnais; one daughter, Vickie Lagacy, of Pembroke; two brothers, Merle Lagacy, of Momence, and Greg Lagacy, of Momence; one sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and Mark Wegner, of Davenport, Fla.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

His parents preceded him in death.

Joseph retired after being employed for 43 years as a machine maintenance technician with Cleveland Steel Containers in Peotone.

He was a member of the St. Anne Catholic Church of St. Anne.

Joseph enjoyed going to flea markets and watching NASCAR races.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m Sunday, Dec. 2, at Cotter Funeral Home in Momence. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at St. Anne Catholic Church of St. Anne, with the Rev. James Fanale officiating.

Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.

Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in St. Anne.
