High school sports roundup for Monday, March 28

Sycamore pitcher Ethan Storm allowed one hit and struck out 11 on Monday to lead the Spartans to a 5-1 nonconference victory over Harlem in Machesney Park.

The senior walked two through five innings and allowed one run. Tommy Townsend struck out three in two innings of relief.

Joey Puloe had two hits, including a double, and Kiefer Tarnoki had an RBI double. Hunter Britz, Griffin Hallahan and Jimmy Amptmann each drove in a run.

Byron 12, Indian Creek 2 (5 inn.): At Byron, the Timberwolves lost in nonconference action. Nik Nelson and Jeffrey Probst had two hits each.

St. Charles East 7, Sycamore 0: At St. Charles, the Spartans were unable to score in a loss at the St. Charles East Tournament.
