Boys regionals tip off today

The Second Season tips off today for boys basketball around the state in all four classes.

Regional play-in games are the ticket item for today’s games.

The Class 2A Hall Regional tips off with two games today - No. 9 Hall (7-20) at No. 8 IVC (6-24) at 1 p.m. with No. 10 Mendota (7-22) at No. 5 Bureau Valley (15-15) at 5 p.m. The Trojans and Storm have split their TRAC East games this season, each winning at home.

The No. 8 St. Bede Bruins (13-18) host No. 10 Gardner-South Wilmington (8-22) at the Academy at 1:30 p.m. today.

In other games in the Class 1A St. Bede Regional, No. 15 DePue (7-21) plays at No. 2 Midland (26-4), No. 14 Streator Woodland (5-22) plays at (3) Putnam County (17-14) and No. 11 Henry (7-19) travels to (5) Dwight (16-12), all at 6 p.m.

No. 16 LaMoille (1-17) has a date at No. 2 Somonauk (24-5) at 1 p.m. in the Class 1A Indian Creek Regional.

No. 13 Annawan travels to No. 5 Woodhull AlWood at 6 p.m. in the Class 1A Wethersfield Regional.
