The Bears made a flurry of coaching hires Wednesday, including adding two new position coaches to the staff.
Wednesday’s big news was the hiring of Alan Williams as defensive coordinator. Williams had been the safeties coach with the Indianapolis Colts since 2018.

Joining him on head coach Matt Eberflus’ staff will be will be linebackers coach Dave Borgonzi and offensive line coach Chris Morgan.

Borgonzi is another former Colts coach. He had served as Colts’ linebackers coach since 2018 under Eberflus. Prior to Indianapolis, he was a defensive quality control coach in Tampa Bay from 2014-17. Borgonzi helped mentor All-Pro linebacker Darius Leonard in Indianapolis. He will work directly with Bears’ star linebacker Roquan Smith.

Morgan was previously the assistant offensive line coach with the Pittsburgh Steelers for one season. He had worked for the Atlanta Falcons as the offensive line coach from 2015-20 under head coach Dan Quinn. He added run game coordinator to his title in 2018.
Morgan had previous stints as an assistant offensive line coach in Oakland (2009-10), Washington (2011-13) and Seattle (2014).
