Mendota and U of I graduate Larry Gies gives back to his school

Gies was the commencement speaker on May 11. Gies, founder, president and chief executive officer of Madison Industries, donated $150 million to the university’s College of Business last year.

Mendota High School and University of Illinois alumnus Larry Gies donated $150 million to the university's college of business last year, and gave back to the U of I even more at graduation ceremonies this spring.

Gies, founder, president and chief executive officer of Madison Industries, was the commencement speaker, and he also posed for photos with Mendota High School alumni who went through the commencement ceremonies.
