Oswego High special ed program administrator now assistant principal at Hunt Club Elementary School

The Oswego School DIstrict 308 Board of Education has appointed Peter Meismer to the position of assistant principal of Hunt Club Elementary School in Oswego for the 2020-2021 school year.

Meismer's appointment was approved by the board at its July 13 meeting. According to district documents, Meismer will earn a base salary of $66,754 for the school year.

Director of Elementary Education Dr. Lindsay Allen said, "Pete Meismer has worked with and in SD 308 for the past 11 years in a variety of roles: teacher assistant, teacher, coordinator, trainer, and program administrator. His child-centered approach, knowledge of instruction, and expertise with special education, AVID, ACES, and SEL make him the perfect candidate at Hunt Club."

Prior to his appointment as assistant principal, Meismer taught math, reading and writing at The Wheatlands Elementary School in Aurora as an elementary resource teacher. In Oct. 2019, Meismer became special education program administrator at Oswego High School, and also served as extended school year site coordinator.

Meismer obtained his bachelor of science in education at Northern Illinois University, and his masters of arts in educational leadership at Aurora University.

I feel fortunate to be in a position to lead and support staff as they work with students to develop their individual visions and plans for success. I am looking forward to supporting all students and helping them to celebrate their individual and group accomplishments. Our school community is a special place and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as assistant principal at Hunt Club,” Meismer said.
