"To all of you, from all of us! Thanks for 10, let's do it again!" A large sign in the front window of Southern Belle's Pancake House emblazoned with this greeting, thanks customers for their support over the past 10 years.
As Southern Belle's celebrates 10 years at 58 W. Schoolhouse Road on the south side of Yorkville, general manager Anthony Malamis praised the response from the community over the past decade.
"Every year sales have gone up, we've been very well-received in the community, and we're very happy to be here," Malamis said. "We've had the same staff, for the most part since we've opened, so we provide a great environment for not only our regular guests, but also our employees. It's shocking it's gone by so fast. Every day has been so pleasant to be here, it's gone by so fast."
He thanked the community again saying, "I couldn't appreciate it more, it's wonderful...without the people of Yorkville, we would not be able to sustain a business here. We're very, very grateful."
Malamis said that the Yorkville location is preparing for a large-scale cosmetic renovation, for an entirely new, modern look. He also confirmed that Southern Belle's will be open during the renovation.
