Maria De la Torre

STREATOR — Maria De la Torre, 33, of Streator, passed away Tuesday, May 22, in Streator.

Funeral services for Maria De la Torre will be at noon Monday, May 28, at Elias Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be members of her family. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon at Elias Funeral Home.

Maria was born May 25, 1984, in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. She was the daughter of Aristoe and Lucila (Hurtado) De la Torre and was raised by Israel DeLeon.

She is survived by her children, Anthony and Mariah Cantu and Elijah Dixon; her mother, Lucila, and stepfather, Israel DeLeon Sr.; siblings, Damaris DeLeon, Israel DeLeon Jr. and Lupita Tinoco; and nieces and nephews, Reyna, Genesis Gullens and Noah Pryor, Isaac (Leti) Deleon, Yaminia, Alessandro Deleon and Polo Hurtado.

Maria attended Streator High School. She loved her children and put them first in her life; she was a selfless person who cared so much about others and would give her last. She was an amazing person. Her smile lit up the whole room anywhere she went.
