ST. CHARLES – An 18-year-old St. Charles North High School student was charged with battery with bodily harm and assault in two separate incidents involving other students at the school, according to police reports and court records.
Edgar E. Olivares, of the zero to 99 block of Churchill Court, South Elgin, was charged Feb. 27 “with chasing a [juvenile] around a classroom after stating he wanted to fight the victim, thereby placing [the juvenile] in reasonable apprehension of receiving a battery,” court records show.
Also on Feb. 27, Olivares was charged with battery, in that he “knowingly caused bodily harm to the complainant in that … [he] punched [the victim a] juvenile in the face, causing swelling in and around [the] victim’s right eye,” resulting in the victim being taken to the hospital, court records show.
The charges are both misdemeanors.
Olivares is scheduled to appear in Kane County Branch Court in St. Charles on both charges March 28.
