YMCA's new CEO comes with decade of experience

STERLING – After narrowing its field of finalists to three, the Sterling-Rock Falls YMCA has hired a new CEO, the nonprofit said in a news release.

Trish Klaver, associate executive director of the St. Cloud Area Family YMCA in Minnesota, will start Sept. 1, the agency said.

In her 2 years in St. Cloud, Klaver has been responsible for overseeing its $2.2 million budget – the same as the Sterling-Rock Falls Y – securing grants and managing its program directors.

She also led the community phase of the its annual campaign while a capital campaign also was taking place, collaborating with the city and a local hospital on St. Cloud's new $25 million facility, which opened this year.

Before that, Klaver was director of member services at the Sioux Falls Family YMCA in South Dakota for 8 years. She has a bachelor of science degree in sports science from Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa.

“We are excited to bring Ms. Klaver in as our next Y CEO," YMCA board Chairman Dan Arickx said in the release. "Her energy is contagious and her ideas are inspiring. She will be a terrific asset for the YMCA and the community.”

“I am looking forward to working with the volunteers and staff to assure a strong Y for the future generations and strengthen the foundation of our community through programs and services that focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility,” Klaver said in the release.
