Rosalind Franklin University recognizes IVCH

Students in the nurse anesthesia program at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science selected Illinois Valley Community Hospital as one of the Top 5 clinical sites at which they worked during the past year.

IVCH is one of 34 hospitals and medical centers in Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana at which Rosalind Franklin students in the certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) program earn clinical hours.

"Please know how grateful we are for our affiliation with Illinois Valley Community Hospital,” said Dr. Franklin McShane, the chair and program director of Rosalind Franklin’s department of nurse anesthesia, in a letter to Kim Duttlinger, CRNA, clinical coordinator of IVCH’s partnership with the university.

Rosalind students also selected IVCH CRNA Chris Westphal as a recipient of their Outstanding Clinical Educator Award. Westphal was one of six nurse anesthetists and anesthesiologists picked for the award from a group of approximately 400 clinicians who served as clinical preceptors in the Rosalind Franklin CRNA training program during the past year.

Rosalind Franklin University is located in North Chicago.
