SHOREWOOD – Ashley Bolyn has been named the memory care director of the new Alden Courts of Shorewood, specializing in memory care.
Bolyn has served as the assistant administrator at Alden Estates of Shorewood Post-Acute Rehabilitation Center for the past two years. She is highly qualified for the role and has multiple certifications, including dementia practitioner, recreation therapy and activity professional, according to a news release from Alden Courts.
Annette Akerman, RN and administrator at Alden Estates of Shorewood who also will serve as the executive director at Alden Courts of Shorewood, said Bolyn will be a wonderful asset to the community.
“She understands senior health from her time at our rehabilitation facility and will be able to use her skills in recreation therapy to provide specialized activity programming for each resident," Akerman said in the release.
Bolyn has experience in activity programming from her time as the recreation director of Alden Estates of Shorewood and from several internship opportunities throughout college.
She has a bachelor’s degree in recreation administration from the University of St. Francis, with a concentration in therapeutic recreation. Bolyn graduated with cum laude honors and was an honorary member of the Rho Phi Lambda, National Honorary Recreation, Park and Leisure Services Fraternity, according to the news release.
“I look forward to working with the residents at Alden Courts of Shorewood and providing them with opportunities to live life to the fullest,” Bolyn said. “I already have an array of ideas for programming, equipment and services we will offer.”
