Prep roundup: BC girls soccer silences Skyhawks

JOHNSBURG – After beginning its season with three convincing wins out of four tries, the Johnsburg girls soccer team hadn’t had much of a chance to discover any weaknesses in its game.

But on Tuesday night, Burlington Central provided that first opportunity, rolling to a 3-0 win against the Skyhawks in Big Northern Conference East play.

Three minutes in, Rockets forward Megan Majewski put one past Skyhawks goalkeeper McKenzie McKay after Majewski was left wide open in the middle of the box.

The Rockets (5-2, 5-0 BNC East) tacked on two more goals in the 48- and 49-minute marks of the second half, which proved to be the back-breakers for the Skyhawks.

"We need to communicate more and organize better, but we need [to] settle down and relax,” Skyhawks central back Madelyn Peterson said. “We were panicking too much.”
