JOLIET – A 26-year-old woman was seriously injured after being dragged by a car Tuesday.
Officers were called about 4:30 a.m. to a fight in the 1700 block of Mayfield Avenue, according to Lt. Kevin LaBolle.
"There was a disturbance between neighbors and as Rose E. Marta, a friend of one of the women involved, went to leave, her friend was run over and pinned by the Mercury Cougar," LaBolle said.
The woman was taken to Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center.
Marta, 30, of Romeoville, was ticketed for traffic violations and possession of drug paraphernalia. The Will County State's Attorney's office will review police reports and determine if other charges will be filed, LaBolle said.
