Tom and Jeannie (Galvin) Berns of Urbana will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 28.

They were married on Aug. 28, 1965, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Plano.

They have two children: Rebecca Berns of Tampa, Fla., and Michael Berns of Rochelle, Ill.; and four grandchildren: Brenna, Braden, Breccan and Briley Berns of Rochelle.

Tom, a former state representative, is the president of Berns, Clancy and Associates, an engineering and surveying firm in Urbana. Jeannie is the office manager at Berns, Clancy and Associates.
