Students at Arbury Hills School in Mokena study ducks

MOKENA – The second grade classes at Arbury Hills School in Mokena recently extended incorporated ducklings into their science lessons.

Students observed webbed feet, bills, and downy feathers. They learned many new vocabulary words like drake, molt, oil gland and hatch, and more. Students read "Ducks" by Gail Gibbons and learned ducks use their bills to get oil from their glands to waterproof their feathers.
