ANNAWAN — Birkey’s Farm Store in Annawan announced Kevin Rose has been named to the role of sales representative.
Rose has lived in Bureau County for more than 30 years. He is originally from the Kewanee area and farmed with his father-in-law near Buda since 1982. He most recently worked as a machinist in Kewanee.
“Kevin is hardworking and will provide excellent service to our customers. We are pleased to have him join the organization,” said Bill Johnson, assistant store manager in Annawan. Rose will call on areas of Bureau, Stark and Henry counties.
An active community member, Rose has served on the Bureau County Pork Producer Board and is currently vice president of the Berlin Mutual Board. He also helped to establish a local food pantry in Sheffield in 2010 and served as its chairman for three years. He looks forward to working with his neighbors. “I like to talk with people — I like the interaction. I have a lot in common with my customers, and that makes my job enjoyable.”
Rose has used Birkey’s for parts and service on his own farm. “We’ve always had red equipment and we still do. I was a customer long before I became an employee.”
