Students return to school in District 205

ELMHURST – District 205 middle and elementary school students enjoyed a few extra days of summer while York Community High School students returned last week.

For the first time, the district began on a split schedule, with York starting Aug. 15 while the middle and elementary students started Wednesday.

Even though they may not have been able to enjoy the entire day outside, many students rode their bikes or walked to York for the first day.

New Field Elementary principal Tammy Poole greeted students as they arrived for their first day Wednesday.
