Geneva man charged with domestic battery, drug possession

BATAVIA – A Geneva man faces two felony charges of possession of cocaine and of driving with a suspended license after he was convicted of continuing to drive while his license was suspended, according to police reports.

Joseph R. Pino, 40, of the 200 block of North Sixth Street, Geneva, was charged with felony possession of less than 15 grams of cocaine and driving with a suspended license after being convicted of driving with a suspended license more than three times, court records show. Pino’s license had been suspended because of a charge of driving under the influence.

The felony charges carry a penalty of one to three years in prison and a fine of up to $25,000.

Pino also was charged with two counts of domestic battery. According to police reports, Pino threw a glass of beer in his girlfriend’s face, striking her above the right eye while they were at O’Brien’s Pub, 12 N. River St., Batavia.

Pino is being held on $50,000 bond, but court records show a petition was filed to reduce the bond amount. His next court date is Thursday. A hearing on an order of protection is scheduled for Feb. 6.
