Casey Osterkamp and Beau Underwood were united in marriage July 27 in the Worthington Presbyterian Church in Worthington, Ohio, by Dr. Stephen Gentle and the Rev. Mack Sigmon. Nuptial music was provided by Bethany Lowery, friend of the groom, as vocalist. Jenna Rolfs, sister of the groom, and Alia Karsan, friend of the bride, read scripture.
The bride is the daughter of Kevin and Jann Osterkamp of Columbus, Ohio. The groom is the son of Tom and DeAnn Underwood of Princeton.
The bride wore a sleeveless, ivory, satin gown of re-embroidered lace with crystal beading and sequins. Her veil was trimmed with crystals. She wore a pearl necklace belonging to her grandmother, which was a gift from her husband when he returned from World War II.
Christine Tsai and Anna Beaser, friends of the bride, were matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were Julie Proulx, Jenni Stoff, Samantha Troy and Maria Welch, all friends of the bride. They wore purple cocktail-length dresses.
Brody Hall and Ben Varnum, friends of the groom, served as best men. Groomsmen were Aaron Smith, Josh Wessell, Alan Williams and Seth Rediger, friends of the groom, and Erik Rolfs, brother-in-law of the groom. Tab Tsai was an usher.
The couple was honored at a dinner reception at the Columbus Athletic Club in Columbus, Ohio, where the bride’s parents celebrated their wedding 35 years ago.
After a seven-day wedding trip to Cancun, the couple is making their home in Washington, D.C.
The bride graduated from The Wellington School in 2001 and Northwestern University in 2005. After serving as a surface warfare officer in the U.S. Navy, she graduated from Harvard University in 2011 with a Master in Public Policy. She is a senior public sector consultant for IBM.
The groom graduated from Princeton High School in 2003, Eureka College in 2006 and the University of Chicago in 2010 with both a Master of Divinity and Master in Public Policy. He is the director of campaigns and advocacy for Sojourners and also an assistant pastor at National City Christian Church.
