INGLESIDE — Fox Lake police said in a press release today that Eric Walleck, 40, reported missing Oct. 7 by his father, contacted a relative by phone asking for money to pay for a ticket home. In tracing the phone number, detectives discovered that it registers to a pay phone in McAllen, TX, near the border of Mexico.
According to the press release, Eric Walleck will remain listed as a missing person until detectives can physically verify that he is safe.
Eric Walleck's father, William Walleck, said he last heard from Eric at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct.6, according to a press release, then reported him missing Oct 7 and telling police his son has mental problems.
