The Lyons Township hockey club beat Hinsdale Central in a shootout Friday night in Cicero's Bobby Hull Community Ice Rink.

The rivals met in an outdoor game for the first time and were tied 3-3 before the shootout. Central's Samuel Messina scored the first goal before Nickolas Wink and Cole Huneryager gave LT the lead with second period goals.

Jack Rooney scored a pair of goals in the third period to give the Red Devils the lead again. The Lions' Charlie Malay tied the game with 3:51 left to force overtime and the eventual shootout.

The Lions won the shootout 2-1 with goalie Nicholas Hernandez stopping Hinsdale's final attempt to lock up the win.
