STERLING – Clem S. Greenwood, 91, of Sterling, died Thursday, July 26, 2012, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. He was retired from the Lee County Farm Service Bureau.
He was born Dec. 18, 1920, in Xenia, the son of Grover and Bessie (Henson) Greenwood. He married Golda F. Harmon on Aug. 1, 1938, in Vincennes, Ind. She preceded him in death on July 28, 1982. He later married Etta Mae Grimes on June 27, 1984, in Horseshoe Bend, Ark.
Survivors include his second wife, Etta Mae of Sterling; daughter, Alice Schaufler of Salem, Ark.; sons, Clem Leeroy (Marilyn) Greenwood of Menominee, Mich., Homer (Barbara) Greenwood of Oregon, Gary (Rose) Greenwood of Franklin Grove and Neal Greenwood of Chicago; sister, Nancy (Frank) King of Xenia; brother, Gene Greenwood of Granville; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Dixon.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor Dalmus Meeks of Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls officiating. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls.
