How did it get its name?
We wanted to form a tribute to our favorite era of rock 'n' roll music. We also wanted to represent what was big during that time, the "hair" and "daze" of great rock 'n' roll.

Name the members, hometowns and what instrument(s) each plays
Curt Anderson (Huntley, originally from Rockford) – guitar and backup vocals
Tom McTague (Huntley, originally from Cary) – lead vocals
Dan Parilli (South Elgin) – bass guitar and backup vocals
Greg Culp (Elgin, originally from Rockford) – guitar and vocals
Mike Long (Carpentersville, originally from Rockford) – drums

How did the band get started?
Curt and Tom were in a cover band together for about five years when they were joined by Dan. When Mike joined, followed by Greg, the guys decided they wanted to narrow down the song selection to the musical era they all grew up in, the '80s. They determined '80s music was what people most liked to dance to. HairDaze was born.

Describe the music you play
We play the favorites of the '80s, not just hairband songs. We have created a great mix of the decade that includes rock classics, dance-pop classics and hair/metal classics. There is pretty much something for everyone.

What makes your act different?
We play a tribute to all the music of the '80s, not just one particular band and not just one type of music. HairDaze is very interactive with the audience. We play at a variety of venues from clubs/bars to festivals to private parties.

Who are your three biggest influences?
Only three? :( OK, then Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Van Halen.

Discuss the best concert you've ever seen
You mean the ones we remember? LOL! Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Scorpions, Styx, Motley Crue, Aerosmith, Damn Yankees, AC/DC, and on and on. That's what we did growing up ... go to as many concerts as possible.

Why should people come see you (in 50 words or less)?
We are an energetic, interactive, FUN band that will have you dancing from the beginning to end of our performance. If you don't like one song, the next one is SURE to get your feet on the dance floor, your voice chiming in and rockin' and rollin' the night away.

What is the best thing about being a musician?
We really like meeting new fans and getting to know the people who appreciate our music and what we are all about. We also LOVE being able to do what we love ... play music.

Pick one: Chuck Berry or Elvis Presley?
Elvis ... really?

Pick one: The Beatles or The Stones?
Ummmm ... really again? The Beatles

Pick one: Michael Jackson or Madonna?
Michael Jackson, of course.
