MOUNT MORRIS – Margaret J. Kested, 89, of Mount Morris, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mount Morris.
Margaret was born Sept. 22, 1921, in Mount Morris, the daughter of Jesse Q. and Lellia Mae (Tice) Allen. She married Edward W. Hollinger in Mount Morris. He preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 1977. She married Everett R. Kested on Dec. 26, 1983, in Mount Morris. She was an advertising assistant with Watt Publishing Co., Mount Morris, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Mount Morris.
Survivors include her husband; one son: Gary (Betsy) Hollinger of Oregon; two daughters, Janet (Gary) Messer of Dixon and Nancy (Gary) Junker of Findlay, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Judy Miller of Wausau, Wis.; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert and Roy Allen; and two sisters, Ethel Yeakel and Myrtle Allen.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mount Morris, with the Rev. Steven Erickson officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Dixon. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Arrangements were completed by Finch Funeral Home, Mount Morris.
Memorials have been established to Trinity Lutheran Church and the Pinecrest Manor Good Sam fund, both in Mount Morris.
