STERLING – Dorothy Louise Devine, 76, of Sterling, passed away Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at CGH Medical Center, after a short illness. Dorothy’s five daughters were all with her at the time of her death.

Dorothy was born July 26, 1933, in Deer Grove, the daughter of Carl and Stella (Pierce) Hasselman.
Dorothy was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Dorothy worked as a nurse at CGH Medical Center, KSB Hospital, and Colonial Acres Retirement Home. Dorothy was a gifted seamstress and her fudge was always a special treat for family and friends at Christmas. She always remembered everyone's birthday and special occasions with a card, note, and prayer, along with a couple of dollars for the great-grandchildren. She especially enjoyed her involvement with the Lee family during the last 25 years.

Survivors include two sisters, Mary Lou Downey and Jane (Jack) Kerwin; five daughters, Mary Jane (Dale) Moyer, Kathy Daily, Sally (Joe) Clark, Nancy (Mike) Fecht, and Amy (Tommy) Golliher; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two nephews; one niece; and her adopted family who held a special place in her heart, Skip, Sue, John, William, and Jenny Lee.

Dorothy donated her body to science and will be cremated at a later date.

A private family service will be held.
