STERLING – Evelyn L. Knox, 85, of Sterling Pavilion, died Sunday, March 29, 2009, at CGH Medical Center. She was employed by Rheelings Super Market, Rock Falls, for many years, retiring in 1988.
Evelyn was born May 30, 1923, in Erie, the daughter of Frank and Mae (Beck) Shepherd. She was a member of First Christian Church, Rock Falls.
Survivors include three daughters, Connie (John) Milles of Rock Falls, Terri (Roger) Pineda of Arlington, Wash., and Jane White of Kuna, Idaho; two sons, Doug (Betty) Knox of Rock Falls and Bill Knox of Sterling; 13 grandchildren, Jill Nikolai, Julie Milles, Diane (Thad) McGinn, Dawn Slothower, Alisha (Kent) Warrey, Josh Knox, Erin Mayer, Layla, Alyse, and Paden Pineda, and Emily, Mallory, and Keegan White; and 14 great-grandchildren, Andrew Nikolai, Nathan and Korrisa Driessens, Riley and Nolan McGinn, Brooke, Blake, and Madison Slothower, Morgan Stone, Aaron, Kaylin, and Kamryn Warrey, Triston Rodriguez, and Lily Hammer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Arlene Blixt.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Church, Rock Falls, with the Rev. Ruth Jones officiating.
Burial is at Erie Cemetery.
Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Arrangements were completed by McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls.
