Letter: Thank you, Adam Kinzinger

Typewritter, letter to the editor

To the Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank U.S Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Channahon) for having the courage to stand up to Donald Trump following the Trump-led insurrection on our nation’s capital. I only wish more elected officials with an “R” next to their name had the same courage. Perhaps those officials should have an “L” for “lapdog” instead.

Thank you, Rep. Kinzinger, for your support of our Constitution. Because that’s what it’s all about, right? Our Constitution and not a political party; truth and not lies; reality and not fantasy; facts and not made-up delusional fiction about a “stolen election.”

Trump was impeached for abusing the of power of his office. He was also guilty of collusion and obstructing justice as was documented in the Mueller Report. Now he is on record asking an elected official in Georgia to “find votes” (aka: cheat) and for orchestrating an insurrection on our nation’s capital simply because he lost an honest and fair election. Pathetic.

Trump has been an embarrassment to our country for four years, he has made a mockery of our Constitution and our laws while simultaneously lowering our nation’s standing in the world.

In the book published last year titled: “Too Much and Never Enough,” by Mary Trump, Ms. Trump told us: Donald Trump is “the most dangerous man alive.” Now we have all seen with our own eyes exactly what she meant. We were so close to having a lying dictator and his mob take over our government and our country.

Did the Republican Senate convict this criminal once and for all? No. But the history books will tell the full story. One final point to remember: law enforcement agencies in multiple states are waiting.
