New Lenox library to reopen to public in two weeks

Library still offering grab and go, virtual options

The New Lenox Public Library has scheduled to reopen to the public on Jan. 18 with limited capacity. The library has been offering grab and go since Nov. 28 and will continue to offer it until Jan. 16.

The collection of books will be accessible, but some of its services will be limited or unavailable. The library’s website states that seating is not currently available.

New library cards should be requested online and if one’s card is schedule to expire soon, it can be renewed by calling circulation at 815-485-2605.

Since the library is allowing checkout, returned materials will be quarantined for five days before being checked back into circulation. For those that do not want to travel, homebound delivery is still being offered.

The library is still keeping up with some of its programming offering them virtually, as well as its eLibrary collection, which is available 24/7. The winter programming guide and event calendar are both available on the library’s website, newlenoxlibrary.org.

Visit its website or social media pages for more updates on opening and other offerings.
