A new Dunkin’ will come to Romeoville’s west side later this year, the village announced.

The former Discount Tire site on Weber Road, just south of Normantown Road, will be converted into a multi-unit retail storefront, according to a village news release.

The new Dunkin’ will occupy one of the three slots and have a drive-thru, which apparently will have the capacity to serve two vehicles at a time, according to a village rendering of the facility. The village did not say which tenants could occupy the other two units.

“We look forward to this unique reuse of an existing space and to welcoming another three businesses to our community,” Mayor John Noak said in a statement.

The village said it expects to approve plans for the project this spring with construction taking place shortly after. It projects an opening date of the new site for this fall, according to the news release.

The future storefront will be just south of a McDonalds and 7 Eleven gas station and store.

It’s the latest development announced by the village in the area as construction of the new Interstate 55 interchange wraps up. The project includes widening Weber Road to better allow for increased traffic flow.

Last year, the village opened a new frontage road right by where the new storefront will be located. Romeoville also announced that two new restaurants and a hotel will be built across the street in the coming years.
