Veterans Day observances in Will and Grundy counties

Here’s how to honor veterans in a formal way

Will County:

NL VFW Veterans Day Memorial Service and Brick Walk Dedication: 11 to 11:45 a.m., New Lenox Commons. Ceremony and dedication of the purchased memorial bricks that have been laid in the walkway.

Veterans Day Ceremony: 11 a.m., 375 W Briarcliff Road, Bolingbrook. Held outdoors at the Veterans Memorial in front of Town Center.

The Moving Wall: Available for viewing through Sunday, American Legion Post 1977, 14414 W. Ford Drive in New Lenox. Replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. For more information, visit thenateco.com/themovingwall.

Grundy County:

Coal City: 11 a.m., Coal City Center for the Performing Arts inside the Coal City High School 655 W. Division St. Sponsored by the Coal City Public Library District. St. Juvin Post 1336 Veterans of Foreign Wars will participate.

Gardner: 11 a.m. at The Gardner American Legion. Lunch served afterward.

Mazon: 3 p.m. American Legion Post 352, 500 Depot St., Mazon.

Morris: 11 a.m., Grundy County Courthouse 111 E Washington St., Morris. If weather is inclement, the observance will be held in the Shabbona Middle School gym, 725 School St.
