2 businesses celebrate their openings by giving back to their communities

Wags 2 Wishes in Plainfield is one of the recipients

Two local businesses celebrated their stores opening by giving back to their respective communities.

Round Room LLC, the nation’s largest authorized Verizon retailer, said April 16 that its new TCC store at 12632 Route 59, Suite 100, in Plainfield donated $1,000 to Wags 2 Wishes animal rescue in Plainfield.

The Plainfield TCC team chose the rescue since many of the team members are animal lovers, according to the release from Round Room LLC.

The TCC donation will help Wags 2 Wishes vet 10 of its animals and sponsor the adoption fee for Boris, one of its current dogs, according the release.

In a 2020 Herald-News story, Wags 2 Wishes President Terri Crotty said Wags 2 Wishes carefully screens families interested in adopting dogs from Wags 2 Wishes. If there’s ever a post-adoption issue, the dogs always return to the rescue, she said.

Crotty said in the story that she’s seen many animals from her rescue become adopted and live happy lives. The dogs just need owners with dedication and patience.

“I feel like dogs are the most resilient animals on earth,” Crotty said in the 2020 story.

In addition, Noodles & Co., which opened its second location on April 21 at 740 Janes Ave., Unit 104, in Bolingbrook, will donate 50% of its sales April 29 to Edgewood Elementary School in Woodridge.

Every Noodles & Co. dish is made to order. Takeout, delivery and curbside pickup options are available on the Noodles Rewards app.
