The village of Romeoville could see another Starbucks coffee shop on its east side.

Starbucks submitted concept plans for a free standing store that could be built along Route 53, according to a village news release.

If approved, the 2,300 square-foot building, with a drive through, would go on a vacant lot next to Joe’s Beverage Warehouse, near the intersection of Romeo Road and Route 53.

“The development at this intersection continues to move forward,” Romeoville Mayor John Noak said in the release. “We’re sure the residents on the east side as well as the students at Lewis University will be very eager to get their Starbucks fix.”

The location will undergo plan review this month. If approved, construction on the shop could start in June with an opening coming in October, according to the release.
