New car dealership coming to Romeoville

The village of Romeoville announced a new Mercedes-Benz dealership slated to be completed in 2022.

The plan will be for a 40,000-square-foot dealership located on the 23 acres on the east side of Weber Road between Airport Road and Gaskin Drive on the village’s west side.

The two-story building will include a showroom, sales area, lounge and office space.

“We are very excited to welcome a brand of Mercedes-Benz’s caliber to Romeoville,” Mayor John Noak said in the release. “In addition to luxury cars, the dealership will sell commercial vans, which we feel will be of great interest to businesses throughout the region.”

After review, Mercedes will move to final design approval by the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Village Board. If the process continues as scheduled, construction could begin this summer with a projected opening in summer of 2022.

“Mercedes-Benz of Romeoville has been working with the mayor and staff of the Village of Romeoville to bring a state of art full-service Mercedes-Benz auto and commercial van dealership to the village,” David Nocera, the chief operating officer of Mercedes-Benz, said in the release.

The new dealership will join other new developments coming to the Weber Road corridor. The projects include a new apartment complex, Wing Stop, Arby’s, Popeyes and U-Haul, which are either under construction or set to start construction this year.
