High school students and their families interested in learning more about applying for federal financial aid for college can get help at workshops held by Joliet Junior College this fall.

JJC is holding several workshops for those needing help to fill out the 2022-2023 Free Application for Federal Student Aid or Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid.

The latter form was made available to eligible Illinois undocumented students and transgender students disqualified from federal financial aid through the RISE Act.

The college announced it would hold seven workshops this fall on Tuesday, Oct. 12, Oct. 20, Oct. 27, Nov. 3, Nov. 17 and Dec. 1. Workshops will last from 4 to 6 p.m.

Those interested can go to jjc.edu to register for the session. For those who prefer an individual virtual or in-person appointment with one of JJC’s financial aid advisors, call the financial aid office at 815-280-2528.
