Man arrested in connection with Bolingbrook shooting

Officers found man with loaded stolen firearm, BB gun, police said

A man was arrested after he was identified by police as a suspect in a shooting in Bolingbrook, police said.

About 5 p.m. Sunday, officers were notified of a possible shooting on 111th Street near Kings Road, police said in a news release.

Two vehicles were traveling west on 111th Street near Kings Road, and a man in one vehicle shot at the other vehicle occupied by two people, police said.

Naperville police initially were notified of the incident and responded to Aurora, where the victim was located, police said.

“Investigation revealed that the shooting occurred in Bolingbrook and that the damage was from a BB gun,” police said.

Alexander Seals, 30, was identified by police as a suspect, and his vehicle was found in front of his residence in the 1900 block of West Crestview Circle in Romeoville, police said.

When Seals was arrested, police reportedly found a loaded handgun that did not belong to him, as well as a BB gun.

“This appears to be an isolated, random incident with no prior connection between the victims and the offender,” police said.

Seals was arrested on charges of unlawful use of a weapon by felon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of a stolen firearm, assault, disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property, police said.

Seals was also wanted on a warrant from Kane County, jail records show.
