An unidentified male juvenile was found shot to death early Saturday behind the Blue Kangaroo laundromat on East Cass Street, police said.

Officers called to assist a Joliet Fire Department ambulance crew with a “subject down” in back of the 606 E. Cass St. laundromat found the juvenile dead shortly before 5 a.m., according to a statement released by the Joliet Police Department.

The Will County Coroner’s Office failed to identify the dead juvenile more than 24 hours after his body was discovered.

The slain juvenile had been shot in the chest and abdomen, according to police.
