Pop’s Italian Beef and Sausage announced the opening of a new location in Joliet.

The restaurant is located at 1866 W. Jefferson St., according to a news release.

“We are beyond excited to be opening the second Pop’s Italian Beef & Sausage in Joliet,” Joe Haberkorn III, local resident and co-owner of the new Joliet restaurant, said in the release. “I grew up eating Pop’s, and I would have never imagined that years later I would be opening a location of my own with my father, and helping the restaurant grow across suburban Chicago.”

The new Joliet restaurant operates Sundays through Thursday from 10 a.m. to midnight and Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.

This is the second Pop’s location in Joliet. The other one located at the Gas N Wash at 2401 S. Chicago St. Pop’s also has locations in Lockport, Mokena, Romeoville, and Shorewood.

The original Pop’s store opened in Palos Heights in 1980. Haberkorn III, grew up visiting the original restaurant in Palos Heights frequently, where his father developed a relationship with Pop’s founder Frank Radochonski, according to the release.

During the average week, Pop’s sells between 1,000 and 2,000 pounds of beef per location, according to the company.
